- A young carer is someone under the age of 18 and a young adult carer is someone between the ages of 18-24 years old.
-Young carers attendance in school is effected due to the caring role they provide due to this some young carers leave second level education after the 3rd year is completed
-Lack of income is also an issue due to the money in the household having to be spent on the individual that requires the additional support
- Not enough money coming into the household is also an issue as there are no finances available to pay for the support they need e.g sensory toys.
- Housing is also a huge issue when it comes to being a young carers, the caring role leads to exhaustion and burnout, in a household that has not got enough bedrooms the mindset of peace and relief is not accessible.
- Lack of sleep is also an issue with being a young carer due to missing some of their sleep schedule
